1 pound ground beef 1 pound ground sausage 1 onion, chopped 2 cloves garlic, minced 1 (28-ounce) can crushed tomatoes 1 (15-ounce) can tomato sauce 1 (15-ounce) can tomato paste 1 teaspoon dried oregano 1 teaspoon dried basil 1 teaspoon salt 1/2 teaspoon black pepper 12 lasagna noodles 1 (15-ounce) container ricotta cheese 1 (15-ounce) container cottage cheese 1 egg, beaten 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese 1/2 cup chopped fresh parsleyInstructions:

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).

In a large skillet, brown the ground beef and ground sausage over medium heat.
Drain off excess fat.

Add the onion and garlic to the skillet and cook until softened.

Stir in the crushed tomatoes, tomato sauce, tomato paste, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper.
Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 15 minutes, or until the sauce has thickened.

In a large bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, cottage cheese, egg, and Parmesan cheese.
Mix well.

Spread 1 cup of the meat sauce in the bottom of a 9×13-inch baking dish.
Top with 6 lasagna noodles.
Spread with half of the cheese mixture.
Repeat layers.

Sprinkle with the parsley.

Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the lasagna is bubbly and hot.

Let stand for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
