Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.

Fold in the chocolate chips.

Let cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Tips:
For a chewier cookie, bake for 12-14 minutes.
For a crispier cookie, bake for 10-12 minutes.
Add 1/2 cup of chopped nuts or dried fruit for extra flavor and texture.
If you don’t have parchment paper, you can grease the baking sheet with butter or cooking spray.
