Creamy Pesto PastaIngredients:
1 pound dried pasta (such as penne, farfalle, or linguine) 1 cup heavy cream 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese 1/4 cup prepared pesto sauce 1/4 cup chopped fresh basil Salt and pepper to taste Optional:

Cook the pasta according to the package directions.
Drain and set aside.

In a large skillet over medium heat, combine the heavy cream, Parmesan cheese, and pesto sauce.
Bring to a simmer and cook until slightly thickened, about 2 minutes.

Add the cooked pasta to the sauce and stir to combine.
Cook until heated through, about 1 minute.

Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Remove from heat, stir in the fresh basil, and serve immediately.

If desired, top with cooked chicken or shrimp.
Tips:
For a richer flavor, use fresh basil pesto sauce instead of store-bought.
To make a vegetarian version, omit the chicken or shrimp.
Add a squeeze of lemon juice to brighten the flavors.
Serve with a side of crusty bread for dipping.
